What is my school’s solar potential?
We can do a lot before visiting your school. This costs you nothing.
We'll review your roofs to determine solar capacity and energy yield, and we'll ask for two things: your consumption data and the price you're paying your current energy supplier, per kWh unit. This helps us calculate how much of the solar generated by the panels will be consumed by the school.
This 'self-consumption' rate is key in helping us work out the right sized system for your school to maximising your savings.
This is not a 'one size fits all' approach.
We work with schools of all sizes and types, and we approach each project differently, depending on its needs and objectives.
We look at your funding options - such as local grants - and we compare alternative options to meet your short and long term goals, considering risk and return.
Some schools want to own their systems outright, while for others that is not an option so they look to us to fully-fund the system. Many schools choose something in-between.
For us to determine the most suitable option for your school, we listen to what's important to you. What do you want to achieve as a school? This might be energy education, long or short-term financials savings or it might be to maximise the CO2 reduction.
We will work with you to find the best solar solution for your school.
You'll receive a visual report outlining the potential, any investment required and the solar price you would pay for each of the options. The report explains the process and calculations, and is presented in a shareable format, ready for you to forward to governors and decision-makers.
