"It is there world, their future. We are here to give our students the knowledge and understanding"
Young people have the power to change the world.
Your voice is important. Installing clean and renewable energy will bring big changes to your school.
Become a Solar Ambassador and join our program from primary to secondary school. Take the 'ABCD pledge' and enhance your own personal skills. Promote behaviour change through assemblies and by understanding the data. You can provide a shining example of good practice within your school and across the wider community.

'Our whole school can learn to be more sustainable. We need student solar ambassadors to make change. It is their world, their future. We are here to give our students the knowledge and understanding, and Solar for Schools helps us do just this'
Design a solar panel system for your school and we will help you make your project a reality. Once installed, you can learn from your school’s electricity data and compare it with other schools from our International Community of solar schools.
Want to encourage YOUR school to install solar panels?
Check out your school's solar generation, consumption or export from the live energy dashboard, linked directly to the solar on your roof. See how much light energy is transferred to electrical energy in the solar panels and much more...
Why not use our app to brush up on your energy knowledge, through interactive quizzes and short videos.
Our unique paneliser tool available through our app allows you to place panels on your school roof and calculate the energy and money saved. It even calculates the carbon savings, equivalent to charging EV cars planting trees.
'When young people ask me in schools “What can we do to fight climate change?” I say: "There are two billion young people in the world out of the 8 billion total inhabitants on the planet. That means each of you need only to persuade two parents and a grandparent, on average, to make a real difference".'
Consumption = this is how much electricity is used, or 'consumed' in school
Export = how much extra energy is sent to the local grid
Generation = what you generate directly from the solar panels
Generation Target = what we predict you will generate off the solar panels
Import = the electricity imported from the national grid
Export = the excess electricity you export to the grid
"In the past year, we have been involved with Solar for Schools who helped our school to get 726 solar panels fitted. Over 25 years these will save us over £2million. This is really impressive and is a big help with global warming as well as saving money for the school which can be better spent on resources for education".
